Sylvia Singleton, a Certified Public Accountant, founded Sylvia M. Singleton, CPA to provide specialized consulting, accounting, financial planning, and tax services to small businesses and individuals. She specializes in providing small business owners with CFO/Controller level financial and operational services which promote business growth. She also specializes in providing both individuals and families with budget and savings implementation plans and oversight to help clients ensure a secure financial future.
Sylvia has been working with small businesses, individuals and families since 1999. Her primary focus has always been to provide expert level business services to small businesses and personal financial and tax services to families and individuals, at a rate that is affordable, with the highest level of integrity as guided by her ethics. She is an active member of the accounting profession regulatory authority the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants [AICPA] and a member of the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants [MSCPA].
Sylvia’s background in the accounting field is diverse. She has worked in private industry in the corporate sector and has also worked in the public sector with small to mid-size businesses, individuals and families. She is able to bring her diverse experience and exposure in the areas of financial management, reporting and taxation to bear when analyzing, strategizing and implementing accounting and business operational practices for the small business clients she serves.
Sylvia completed her Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, and went on to obtain a Graduate Degree, also at Northeastern University, in Accounting. Additionally, she holds a Graduate Degree in Taxation and a Graduate Certificate in Personal Financial Planning from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Having a family of her own has taught Sylvia the importance of establishing a sound financial goal to meet the many demands that come along with the blessing of family. Taking into consideration the care needs of aging parents, college bound children and personal retirement needs, she has expanded the tax preparation component of her practice to include an overall financial review of these vital matters for all her individual and family clients.
